February: the month of love. After the dreariness that was January, it’s only natural that we all begin to feel our hearts warm a little as we think about that special someone.

At N64 Blog, we thought it was important to celebrate this sweet and loving time of year. And what better way to do this than to treat ourselves to vicious dinosaurs, unnecessarily gory weapons and copious amounts of blood squirting from some poor fella’s neck? That’s right, February is Turok Month!

All jokes aside, the original Turok: Dinosaur Hunter was a seminal piece of software for the Nintendo 64 and undoubtedly played a key role in ensuring the system’s survival during the early days. It may not be as fondly remembered as GoldenEye 007 or Perfect Dark, but it was pretty special at the time, and proved that consoles could handle the first-person shooter genre. The very fact that they were once deemed too inferior to manage this now seems somewhat bizarre in today’s Call of Duty-infested market.

In honour of the occasion, we’ve coated the blog in a lovely jungle green and will be bringing you new Turok features each week. If you want to make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action, be sure to follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook!
