Turok 2′s Most Awesome Weapons
Martin Watts February 23, 2013When it released in 1998, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil really took things up a notch in the visuals department. It was one of the first game to utilise the Nintendo 64′s Expansion Pak, meaning that it could deliver a rich, high-resolution experience to the player.
But as we said in our recent Turok 2: Seeds of Evil review, this alone isn’t what made the title truly stand out. It’s the little details like the ability to dismember enemies and seeing how they react when shot at that really count. With regards to the latter, Acclaim Entertainment gave us plenty of different weapons to experiment with.
Therefore, we’ve compiled a list of the most awesome weapons you’ll find in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. It might get a little gory moving forward, but if you can stomach it, we’re sure you’ll end up feeling strangely nostalgic over our choices.

Tek Bow
The standard bow is something of a last resort weapon when compared to the impressively destructive line-up of guns that Turok has at his disposal. Nevertheless, the player receives an upgrade quite early on in the game which allows him or her to fire Tek arrows. Each one is stuffed full of explosive goodness, which funnily enough is actually quite bad for whoever it hits.
This weapon was introduced in the first game, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, but the version seen in Turok 2: Seeds of Evil is superior thanks to a very useful sniper mode. When using this, your crosshair is much more prominent and arrows travel a greater distance when fired. There’s little more satisfying than seeing a Dinosoid wince in pain as a Tek arrow gets lodged in their head, only to explode seconds later.
